Here we have an exceptionally clean and functional Heathkit IT-28 In Circuit Capacitor Checker. It has the capability of checking capacitors both in and out of circuit and checks for leakage, shorts, opens, and will identify the value of an unknown capacitor. It also has a resistance bridge function and will test and identify resistor values. Of course it can also be used in re-forming vintage electrolytic capacitors. This model was the latest model Heathkit produced prior to going out of the test equipment business. This piece of very useful and sought after test equipment is in excellent cosmetic condition. The front panel is immaculate and all of the original control knobs are present and operate smoothly. The front panel has almost no signs of use. The aluminum cabinet has been cleaned and has only minor rub marks The control wafer switches have been cleaned with an appropriate solvent for good contact. The components are all high end components, no wax style paper capacitors. The instrument was calibrated in compliance with the Heathkit calibration procedure from the construction manual. I have tested this item and it is functional in all modes. The green eye tube still has several years use left and the other two tubes tested good. A reproduction copy on CD ROM of the assembly and operators manual will be included.
