Reads in Seconds, from 0 to 60 secs. Unit has an electrical clutch which couples the red pointer to a timing motor and drives this pointer from the adjustable white pointer to zero. When pointer reaches zero it trips a SPDT switch and the timing cycle is over. However motor continues to run and th epointer continues past zero. At approx. 1/2% of range past zero the pointer trips a second swith and the motor is shut off.
