These were a freight claim item, and the box labels had been stripped by the time we got them. They were turned completely with a lathe, as evidenced by the tooling marks on every surface. They are also very accurately turned since they vary less than 1/1000th inch in any dimension. They could have been designed to carry a small V-belt, judging from the shape of the groove. These would be ideal for anyone working with robotics or even the ordinary mechanical experimenter. The dimensions are as follows: Width of groove (at top): .175" Width of groove (at bottom): .125" They fit almost perfectly on the shank of a #11 drill bit. The material is some kind of ferrous steel with a zinc coating. It can be nicked with a pair of pliers so it is not extremely hard, but they should outlast comparable aluminum parts several times over. Need easy, copy & paste html code |
